Sauvignon Republic Cellars-new and thought provoking...Why screwcaps?

Screw caps have come a long way since the days of jug wines. They are hands down the best closure for wine and superior to cork which too often spoils enjoyment of a wine because of cork taint. Screw caps allow the wine to be stored in any position and of course are simple to open and reclose—no separate tool required!

Sauvignon Republic Cellars is proud to announce our new releases-watch for news on wine growing regions and the finest Sauvignon Blanc wines!

The partners plan to release wines from France’s Loire Valley, the northern Italian region of Friuli and the cool Cape of South Africa. “Because we are working in two hemispheres, we will introduce a new wine every six months,” says Winemaker and General Manager John Buechsenstein. “We source our grapes from growers who are environmentally and socially conscious.” Each wine is a tangible expression of terroir, with fresh flavors, crisp acidity and no oak influence. To protect the wines’ lively character, the winery uses Stelvin screwcaps as closures.
